Porto Itapoá set a new monthly record in April, moving 107,475 TEUs, and surpassing the previous record of 106,565 TEUs set in October 2023.
Felipe Fioravanti Kaufmann, Director of Business Development and Customer Experience at the Brazilian port, believes these numbers confirm the growing importance of the Terminal as a logistics option for the market. “We were the private terminal that grew the most in the country for two consecutive years and today we account for a market share of about 8.5%,” he pointed out.
Kaufmann went on to add, “In 2023, we achieved several important milestones, such as surpassing the milestone of 1 million TEUs moved in a single year. However, it is important to remember that it was a very challenging year for the entire segment, and Porto Itapoá consolidated its position as a regional port reference, having prepared for it through heavy investments in its infrastructure.”
Porto Itapoá saw its April dry imports increase to 35,692 TEUs, second only to January of this year when 36,951 TEUs were moved, while dry exports were 17,317 TEUs, only lower than December last year when the Terminal moved over 18,891 TEUs.
