They have also announced the appointment of Matt Swenson as the new account executive for North America. With his extensive experience in the maritime sector, Swenson will try to spearhead PortXchange’s initiatives in bolstering its presence throughout the United States.
“With five years of hands-on experience in data, AIS technology, and digital solutions, he’s well-equipped to navigate our industry’s challenges and opportunities,” stated a PortXchange spokesperson.
According to a statement, his tenure at Marine Traffic and Lloyd’s List Intelligence honed his ability to collaborate effectively with ports, fostering tailored solutions that optimize visibility, vessel monitoring, and operational efficiency.
In his new role, Matt Swenson is committed to equipping maritime stakeholders across North America with essential decarbonization tools. Leveraging PortXchange’s comprehensive suite of tools, he will lead efforts to guide the North American market on the benefits of reducing carbon footprints through streamlined emissions data collection and facilitating just-in-time arrivals. Furthermore, he will offer hands-on support to ports, ensuring the seamless integration of PortXchange solutions into their existing operations.
Sjoerd de Jager, CEO of PortXchange, commented,“We are thrilled to have Matt Swenson on board. His knowledge and passion for the marine environment, especially around North America, will stand him in good stead. The maritime industry stands at a pivotal juncture where the call for digitalization, data-driven strategies, and collaborative initiatives between ports and shipping lines have never been more urgent. In this critical moment, US ports have already demonstrated the aspiration to be frontrunners in this transition, not because of emerging legislation, but because of customer service and strategic necessity. With Matt on the ground, and our already strong track record in the US, we are excited about what we can accomplish together with the US-based maritime ecosystem.”
