PortXchange introduces upgraded tool for emissions tracking and analysis

PortXchange has introduced the EmissionInsider Carbon Insight Suite, an upgraded version of its emissions tracking and analysis platform.

This advanced tool marks a major step forward in setting global standards for emissions reporting within the maritime industry.

The EmissionInsider Carbon Insight Suite offers a customizable dashboard, allowing ports to integrate tailored modules specific to their needs. One key feature is the Port Emissions Report, which delivers detailed emissions analysis, enabling ports to enhance their reporting capabilities.

According to a statement, as the maritime industry faces growing pressure to decarbonize, ports play an increasingly vital role in reducing carbon emissions. The original EmissionInsider platform has already proven its worth by assisting major ports—such as those in Houston and Rotterdam—with effectively monitoring, analyzing, and managing their emissions.

Building on this success, the new EmissionInsider Carbon Insight Suite introduces advanced functionalities to meet the sector’s evolving demands. PortXchange expects to revolutionize traditional methods of emissions monitoring, eliminating the need for expensive consultants who take extended periods to collect data and compile reports.

Also, with real-time monitoring and analysis at the touch of a button, ports can now swiftly evaluate the impact of new initiatives and adjust their strategies in real-time.

The platform also allows unlimited users within port authorities to access the dashboard, promoting broader team involvement with the data. Enhanced executive reporting features make it simple for C-suite leaders to get an overview of their port’s emissions for any desired timeframe.

Designed to be intuitive and user-friendly, the suite streamlines the user experience while offering sophisticated tools to handle complex queries. While the current version focuses on vessel emissions, future updates will expand to cover all transportation modes within a port, including trucks, rail, and cargo handling equipment.

In addition, the platform also complies with the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and employs established methodologies like the EPA’s MOVES4 for the US and TNO for Europe.

The implementation of the EmissionInsider Carbon Insight Suite typically takes 4 to 12 weeks, depending on the number of modalities to be integrated.
