President of Oakland Port Commissioners Board begins second term

Barbara Leslie was reelected as president of the Oakland Board of Port Commissioners for a second term. As first vice president, Yui Hay Lee will begin his second term. Andreas Cluver will take over as second vice president replacing outgoing commissioner Cestra “Ces” Butner.

Leslie was appointed to the Oakland Board of Port Commissioners in 2018. She served as first vice president from 2020 to 2022 before becoming president in 2022. Since 2014, she has also been CEO of the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.

 “I am looking forward to continuing our work, in partnership with our stakeholders, on numerous green initiatives that will help the Port achieve zero emissions from operations. Our Board passionately supports responsible growth and appreciates Port staff’s commitment to finding and implementing innovative solutions to accomplish this goal,” stated Barbara Leslie.

Commissioner Yui Hay Lee is also serving his second straight term as first vice president. From 2020 to 2022, he served as second vice president. In 2018, he was appointed to the Board of Port Commissioners. Commissioner Lee is the former president and CEO of YHLA Architects, which he founded in Oakland in 1980.

In addition, second vice president commissioner Andreas Cluver returns to the Oakland Board of port commissioners in a leadership position. Cluver served as president from 2020 to 2022 and as first vice president from 2018 to 2020. In 2016, he was appointed to the Port Board. Cluver is the Alameda County Building and Trades Association’s secretary-treasurer.
