Reshuffle sees new incumbent in Cypriot shipping ministry

The Cyprus Government has confirmed that Natasa Pilides, has been moved from her position at the Deputy Shipping Ministry in a reshuffle of ministers, as of 25 June.

Vasilis Demetriades, an expert on maritime policy issues at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport will now lead the deputy ministry, including responsibility for the Cyprus Flag Administration.

The new deputy shipping minister has served as the head of the EU Affairs Unit in the Cyprus Ministry of Communications and Works and as Maritime affairs counsellor at the Permanent Representation of Cyprus to the EU in Brussels.

It is important to note that Demetriades has worked very constructively and closely with the Cyprus Shipping Chamber (CSC) in providing valuable assistance on various milestones for Cyprus Shipping, such as the approval of the Cyprus Shipping Taxation Framework by the European Commission.
