Wilson Sons, a port and marine logistics firm based in Rio Grande, Brazil, reported improved operating results in the first four months of the year at the Rio Grande Container Terminal.

For the period January-April 2023, the Brazilian box terminal handled 198,857 TEUs, translating to an 11% growth compared with the same period last year.

Additionally, Rio Grande Container Terminal reached a new productivity milestone in January handling Mediterranean Express and 1,567 containers, with each container crane of the terminal handling 42 boxes per hour.

The Rio Grande Container Terminal is considered one of the most important terminal facilities in Brazil and one of the most competitive in South America.

Furthermore, the terminal has nine ship-to-shore container gantry cranes capable of working on 24 container-wide ships, 22 wheeled rubber tyred gantry cranes used in the yard, two cable-controlled mobile cranes, nine reach stackers and 56-yard tractors.
