RoadOne acquires intermodal service provider in Texas

RoadOne IntermodaLogistics, a US supplier of intermodal, warehousing, and logistics services announced the purchase of The Transporter, a major regional intermodal service provider with offices in Houston, Dallas, and Laredo, Texas.

With this acquisition, RoadOne expands its commitment to the Southwest area of the United States. Since November 2022, RoadOne has announced the opening of a new Houston branch office and the relocation to a 45,000 m² transload facility in Pasadena, less than 8 kilometres from the port.

Transporter IntermodaLogistics, a division of RoadOne, will now be called Transporter IntermodaLogistics.

“The US Southwest is an important market, especially as we see container volumes increase in the Gulf. We welcome Transporter to the RoadOne family of companies,” mentioned Ken Kellaway, president & CEO at RoadOne IntermodaLogistics.

Moreover, Ridgemont Equity Partners, a middle market private equity firm, and RoadOne’s co-founders, as well as Nonantum Capital Partners, recently announced the recapitalisation of RoadOne. This move is expected to provide RoadOne with considerable expansion capital to support targeted acquisitions as well as ongoing investment in technology and platform operations.

“I am extremely pleased to have Transporter join the RoadOne organization. With my sons at the helm, I know the company will continue to grow and prosper, especially now backed by RoadOne’s national network and array of logistics, drayage and distribution resources”, said Russ Cook, founder of Transporter.
