RSGT to operate Bangladesh’s newly built terminal for the next 22 years

Saudi Arabia’s port and terminal operator Red Sea Gateway Terminal International (RSGT) has secured a concession agreement for the Patenga Container Terminal (PCT) at the port of Chittagong in Bangladesh.

RSGT will operate the newly built box terminal on PPP (public-private partnership) – G2G (government to government) basis for the next 22 years after the agreement, which was signed by RSGT CEO Jeans O. Foley and Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) chairman Rear Admiral Mohammad Sohail today (6 December).

Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina and Saudi Investment Minister Khalid Al-Falih witnessed the signing ceremony at Bangladesh’s Prime Minister’s Office in Dhaka.

The Patenga Container Terminal is located some 242 kilometres southeast of Dhaka and covers over 129,500 m² of land with three jetties of a total length of 600 meters. The terminal has an annual container capacity of 450,000 TEUs.
