SAAM Terminals conducts leadership training for BEST Program

SAAM Terminals selected San Antonio Terminal Internacional as the central hub for advancing the implementation of the BEST program across its eight ports throughout the Americas, as well as within its Logistics division.

During the meeting, attended by appointed BEST Leaders from each operation, objectives for the upcoming year were outlined, and a training session was conducted on two key pillars of the program: change management and principles of excellence.

The business excellence senior manager for SAAM Terminals, Rolando Vargas, mentioned that the main objective of the meeting was to outline and strengthen the strategy for this year, establishing clear goals and specific actions, in addition to sharing best practices among the participants. We are convinced that, with the commitment and participation of all our employees, BEST will be a fundamental pillar on our path to excellence.”

The training focused on change management techniques, equipping participants with tools to effectively navigate day-to-day operational challenges.

“This meeting between terminals has been an enriching experience, as it has equipped me with a great deal of knowledge and the responsibility of working with the main and most valuable resource we have, our people,” commented Carolina Arévalo, TPG’s commercial manager and BEST leader for this terminal. 

The event brought together employees from various terminals, including Florida International Terminal (FIT), Terminal Marítima Mazatlán (TMAZ), Sociedad Portuaria Caldera (SPC), Terminal Portuario Guayaquil (TPG), Iquique Terminal Internacional (ITI), Antofagasta Terminal Internacional (ATI), San Antonio Terminal Internacional (STI), San Vicente Terminal Internacional (SVTI), and SAAM Logistics.

According to a statement, the program emphasizes continuous process enhancement, facilitated by robust change management strategies and comprehensive training to cultivate skills and understanding of the five fundamental components of change: awareness, desire, knowledge, ability, and reinforcement.
