Scan Global Logistics announces Sand Road Freight takeover

Scan Global Logistics has announced its aim to expand its transportation network in Europe with the acquisition of Sand Road Freight, a logistics company that works throughout the continent and is most known for its road transport forwarding services between Denmark and the Benelux countries.

Both sides have signed the agreement and the transaction is likely to be completed this summer.

Sand Road Freight’s setup consists of exclusively using trailers equipped with lifting tailgates from pickup to final delivery without reloading, thus saving time and reducing the risk of damaged goods.

Scan Global Logistics said it is accelerating its European growth plan. The company has previously announced the launch of its first office in Romania in early April, with the intention to expand into other countries. Since 2016, the company has acquired 33 companies worldwide.

“With the growth we have had over the past few years – and still have – it’s essential we find the right match to fit our culture and way of doing things. Sand Road Freight is that match,” stated Allan Melgaard, global CEO of Scan Global Logistics.
