Danish maritime data analytics company, Sea-Intelligence has published a new Global Liner Performance (GLP) report, with schedule reliability figures up to and including August 2022.

The Danish analysts have noticed that the average delay for late vessel arrivals has been dropping sharply so far this year, tapering off a little in the past few months.

In August 2022, the average delay improved sharply once again, dropping by -0.57 days M/M to 5.86 days. This is now the first time that the average delay has dropped below the six-day mark since April 2021.

With schedule reliability of 53%, Maersk was the most reliable carrier in August 2022, followed by CMA CGM with 46%. Another six carriers recorded schedule reliability of over 40%, five recorded schedule reliability of 30%-40%, while Yang Ming recorded the lowest schedule reliability of 29.8%.

In August 2022, once again, several carriers were very close to each other in terms of schedule reliability, with 10 carriers within 7 percentage points of each other. Additionally, 12 of the top-14 carriers recorded a M/M improvement, while all 14 recorded a Y/Y improvement, with 11 of those carriers recording double-digit improvements, and 3 recording improvements of over 20 percentage points.
