Sealand Asia, Maersk Line’s intra-Asia arm, has executed an annual reshuffle of its intra-Asia services, offering faster turnaround times and a more extensive coverage.
[s2If is_user_logged_in()]Between late February and early March 2021, Sealand Asia will remove calls at Hibikinada, Hakata and Moji, ports located in Japan’s Kyushu Island, from its IA-88 service, which has a five-week turnaround. The service revision will see the Kyushu ports replaced by Osaka, Kobe, Yokohama and Nagoya in Japan’s Kansai and Kanto regions. IA-88 will also remove Incheon, Ningbo and Cambodia’s Sihanoukville, while Qingdao and Bangkok will be added.
The revised IA-88 route will be Osaka, Kobe, Yokohama, Nagoya, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ho Chi Minh City (Cat Lai), Bangkok (PAT), Laem Chabang, Haiphong, Xiamen, Qingdao and Osaka.
Sealand Asia’s IA-68 service will then be adjusted to include the Kyushu ports and Incheon. Calls at the Chinese ports of Dalian and Qingdao and the central Vietnamese port of Da Nang will be dropped so that IA-68 can adhere to its three-week turnaround.
The amended IA-68 route will be Gwangyang, Hibikinada, Busan, Hakata, Moji, Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Ho Chi Minh City (Cat Lai), Shanghai, Incheon and Gwangyang.
Sealand Asia will also reorganise its IA-2 service which connects Japan, China, Thailand and the Straits of Malacca, by removing Xiamen and Hong Kong in favour of Qingdao.
The new route will be Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Kobe, Qingdao, Tanjung Pelepas, Singapore, Laem Chabang, Hong Kong and Tokyo.
Sealand Asia will also extend its PH3 service from the current six weeks to an eight-week turnaround time, after including calls to Xiamen and Ho Chi Minh City (Cat Lai), Qui Nhon and Da Nang in Vietnam. The revised PH3 loop will be Pyeongtaek, Dalian, Tianjin, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Ho Chi Minh City (Cat Lai), Qui Nhon, Da Nang, Yantian, Hong Kong, Batangas, Manila, General Santos, Davao and Pyeongtaek.
Sealand Asia will also reduce its PH5 service from six to five weeks after removing Gwangyang, Chiwan and Yantian, with the adjusted loop being Ningbo, Shanghai, Qingdao, Busan, Vostochny, Busan, Dalian, Tianjin, Qingdao, Hong Kong, Nansha, Ho Chi Minh City, Laem Chabang and Ningbo.
The carrier will also amend its SH2 route, removing Qingdao, Kaohsiung and Kuching, and its IA7 service will remove Kaohsiung and Singapore. Lastly, the company’s IA5 service will remove Tawau while adding Fuzhou in southern China and Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia.
The reorganised SH2 loop will be Ningbo, Shanghai, Kaohsiung, Tanjung Pelepas, Port Kelang, Chittagong, Pasir Gudang, Tanjung Pelepas and Ningbo.
After revision, the IA7 route will be Nansha, Yantian (Shenzhen), Hong Kong, Tanjung Pelepas, Port Kelang, Chittagong, Port Kelang, Tanjung Pelepas, Kuching and Nansha.
Adjustments to the IA5 connection will see a rotation of Shanghai, Ningbo, Fuzhou, Tanjung Pelepas, Yangon, Port Kelang, Tanjung Pelepas, Singapore, Kota Kinabalu, Davao, Cagayan De Oro and Shanghai.
