SeaLead announces new service connecting China with India

SeaLead, in partnership with Sinotrans, SITC, and TS Lines, has announced the launch of a new service called FIX (Far East to India Express), which will connect ports in China to the east coast of India.

The first voyage will be on 23 August 2023.

The rotation of the new service will be Qingdao (China) / Shanghai (China) / Ningbo (China) / Shekou (China) / Chennai (India) / Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) / Port Kelang (Malaysia) / Shekou / Qingdao.

The FIX aims to offer one of the fastest transit times available from China to Chennai and Visakhapatnam, according to a statement.

“Customers in India will also have options to the Mediterranean and ports in Egypt and Turkey with SeaLead services via Port Klang, allowing for speedy and reliable services between these areas,” said SeaLead in a statement.

The new service announcement comes a few weeks after SeaLead opened a new office in Mumbai to serve as a hub for its South Asia operations.

Commenting on the launch, Shiva Mahadevan, SeaLead’s managing director for South Asia and the Middle East, said, “We are proud to offer the FIX service to our customers based in India as it will provide them with a seamless and efficient way to transport their goods between China and the east coast of India and vice versa, as well as allow customers in other countries to access the opportunities that India has to offer.”
