Tibar Bay Port’s equipment now includes 41 sets of CSS Cell Fender Systems developed by ShibataFenderTeam (SFT) to securely handle larger vessels at the new port.
According to a statement, each one is made up of a single rubber fender section and a closed box panel with UHMW-PE pads. The extent of the project also included 22 Staghorn Bollards and ten Steel Ladders.
ShibataFenderTeam has also provided 50 V Fenders, also known as arch fenders, in different sizes, four Corner Fenders, 16 Horn Bollards, and two Steel Ladders.
With this second order, ShibataFenderTeam said it has completed the equipment of the new infrastructure, right on time before the operational inauguration of the port in September 2022 marked by the arrival of the first two vessels.
The newly constructed port is built by CHEC (China Harbour Engineering Company) and is owned and managed by Bolloré Group. Additionally, its 630-meter pier is intended to accommodate up to 750,000 containers yearly.
