Shipbuilding Industry: Eurasian block outpaces Western productivity

The shipbuilding industry displays diverse trends across various regions, influenced by a mix of geopolitical, economic, and strategic factors.

According to data from Xclusiv Shipbrokers, Chinese shipyards saw a 17% year-on-year increase in new orders for bulk carriers, tankers, gas carriers, and container ships in the first ten months of the year. Chinese shipyards lead in the container and bulk carrier sectors in 2024, capturing 90% of container orders and 81% of bulk carrier orders, as reported by the same source.
