In light of current market conditions, Hapag-Lloyd has announced that with effect from 1 May 2020 it will increase rates for all cargoes and all container types from East Asia to West Coast of South America, Mexico, Caribbean, Panama and South America East Coast as follows:
- US$600 per Container
In addition, APL will apply a general rate increase (GRI) within the following scope:
Effective Date: 1 May 2020 and 15 May 2020 (both dates applicable)
Origin: China and Hong Kong
Destination: United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Iraq
Quantum: US$200/TEU
On the other hand, CMA CGM has announced that its peak season surcharge (PSS) of US$200 per dry container, from East Mediterranean & Black Sea to the Indian Subcontinent (including India, Pakistan & Sri Lanka), applicable since 15 March 2020 is to be cancelled as from 1 May 2020.
