SMDG adds Hoopo to its membership

SMDG, a non-profit, international user group that develops, maintains, and promotes standardized Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) messages and protocols for the maritime container industry, has announced the addition of Hoopo, a provider of dry container tracking and fleet intelligence solutions, to its community of members.

Hoopo contributes a distinctive and crucial perspective to the group’s goals of enhancing digitalization, interoperability, and data standardization throughout global container logistics.

Ann-Christin Fröhmcke, co-chair of SMDG, said that Hoopo’s insights are key to integrating smart container capabilities with SMDG’s standardized messaging protocols, ensuring solutions that are scalable, prepared for the future, and beneficial for the entire maritime ecosystem.

Hoopo is actively collaborating with various regional and global shipping companies to deploy its smart container technology extensively, including a major implementation with ZIM Integrated Shipping Services. This technology provides real-time visibility, enhanced cargo security, and improved operational performance for shipping carriers and their clients.
