South Carolina terminals brace for Tropical Storm Isaias

South Carolina ports have imposed restrictions on operations starting tomorrow, as they brace themselves for the arrival of Tropical Storm Isaias.

Terminal work will begin late tomorrow at the Charleston Marine Terminals and South Carolina Inland Port Dillon. Seven vessels are due to dock at South Carolina ports tomorrow.

Inland Port Greer will maintain its normal opening hours.

The port is waiting on further orders from the Coast Guard as the tropical storm works its way up the US east coast. The National Hurricane Center was predicting the tropical storm would turn into a hurricane before hitting landfall later today.

After passing through North and South Carolina it’s expected to reach New York late on Tuesday evening and could cause further disruption to activity in the largest ports on the eastern seaboard.
