The Saudi Red Sea Authority (SRSA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation to explore collaboration in sustainable marine protection and recreational marine tourism activities.
The MoU was signed by SRSA CEO Mohammed Al-Nasser and Princess Hala bint Khaled bin Sultan Al-Saud, president of the Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation.
This partnership aligns with SRSA’s strategy to expand its strategic partnerships and its mandate to protect the marine environment using best international practices. It aims to enhance navigational, marine, and tourism activities while achieving integration with relevant public, private, and third-sector organizations.
In addition, this effort supports the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 by promoting coastal tourism as a key sector of the national economy.
The agreement covers several areas of cooperation, including human capital development, ocean conservation, marine reserves, plastic pollution, coral reef protection, the blue economy, knowledge sharing, research initiatives, and awareness campaigns.
Both SRSA and the Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation are eager to use this partnership to support environmental conservation and the sustainable use of the marine environment in Saudi Arabia.
