As of 15 December 2023, Thecla Bodewes and Jacqueline Prins have assumed roles on the Port of Rotterdam Authority Supervisory Board.
Miriam Maes, having completed two terms, is stepping down as the chair of the Supervisory Board. Koos Timmermans will take on the role of chair, while Wouter van Benten will be appointed as the new vice chair.
Nominated by the Board and appointed by shareholders, members serve a four-year term.
According to a statement, Thecla Bodewes, a seventh-generation shipbuilder, has led Thecla Bodewes Shipyards Group as CEO since 1998. Apart from her CEO role, Thecla Bodewes holds non-executive positions in the maritime sector, including roles at the Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution and Allseas. Since 2021, she has served as the figurehead of Top Sector Water & Maritime, actively shaping the sector’s sustainability agenda. Additionally, she chairs the Supervisory Board of Scania Production Netherlands and serves as the Honorary Consul for the Republic of Paraguay.
Jacqueline Prins, currently the general director/secretary of the Netherlands Social and Economic Council, plays a key role in policy development for socioeconomic issues and external relations. In her diverse roles, she contributes to societal tasks, holding positions such as director of the holding of shareholders in Evides and Supervisory Board member of the Royal Netherlands Aerospace Centre. As the Supervisory Board Chair of the Netherlands ‘Leergeld’ Foundation, she advocates for educating disadvantaged children.
Furthermore, Miriam Maes, a Supervisory Board member since January 2016 and chair since 2018, concludes her tenure in line with the customary eight-year term.
