Suspected Covid-19 case on Maersk Emden

Mediterranean Shipping Company has announced that the 13,100TEU Maersk Emden, which is deployed on 2M Alliance’s Jaguar/TP2 service, has been at anchorage in Chiwan Container Terminal of the Shenzhen port in China since 22 November due to a suspected case of Covid-19 infliction onboard.

The 2010-built container ship will remain in the Chinese port until it receives further updates from authorities for the next actions.

“As per standard procedures, the affected crew member has been isolated, and the remaining crew onboard Maersk Emden will be tested and monitored for symptoms,” said MSC, which together with Maersk form the 2M Alliance.
