Suspected unauthorised boarding of Singaporean oil tanker

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA Singapore) found that unidentified persons boarded the Singapore-registered oil tanker Success 9 about 300 nautical miles off the Abidjan Coast, Cote d’Ivoire.

The incident occurred on 10 April 2023 at around 10 p.m. (Singapore time).

There are 20 crew members of various nationalities onboard the vessel, of which one of them is a Singapore citizen.

MPA Singapore said it is actively monitoring the situation and providing assistance in collaboration with the ship owner, the Monrovia Regional Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre and the Information Fusion Centre at the Changi Command and Control Centre.
