Telemar opens new office in Spain

Telemar, a provider of smart maintenance and remote access technology, is establishing an office in Algeciras, Spain.

This is another strategic move to increase the company’s global presence in important ports and shipping hubs, allowing clients to receive more timely service solutions.

The Algeciras office will allow Telemar to directly serve clients in the region for the first time, expanding the breadth and variety of services provided with a dedicated team in place to manage client demands at Europe’s fifth biggest port by yearly TEU volume.

The new facility will also provide solutions like Smart Maintenance and Smart Data, Telemar’s maritime Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) platform. Solutions also include the design, engineering, integration, and management of digital bridge and communications systems, with plans to progressively extend to incorporate Marlink’s cybersecurity and managed network services.

Telemar’s service professionals will also handle maintenance and support requests from clients of sister firm OmniAccess, a Marlink Group subsidiary that specializes in superyachts.

“Our new service centre is a commitment to expanding the possibilities available to vessel operators for maintenance and data services that support safety and provide a competitive edge. We look forward to serving new and existing Telemar customers from our Straits of Gibraltar base and bringing the benefits of digitalization to bridge navigation and remote support contracts,” stated Mike Bauwens, CEO of Telemar.
