Temporary closure of the Antwerp-Athus rail corridor

The recent weather conditions in Belgium have caused extreme damages in the rail tracks between Antwerp and Athus, according to Maersk’s announcement, and as a result, the rail corridor Antwerp-Athus and vice versa has been temporarily closed.

The Danish carrier said repair of the tracks is ongoing right now and expected to last at least three weeks.

Therefore, the following intermodal rail connections have been disabled immediately for the time being:

Rail CY and Rail Combined Athus

  • Terminal Container Athus
    Rue de Terminal 7
    6791 Athus

“We do not know yet when the repairs will be finally concluded,” noted Maersk.
