Tropical storm set to disrupt North Carolina ports operations

The US East Coast ports in North Carolina have issued storm warnings as Tropical Storm Isaias continues to close in to the region, with the NC ports advising they would move to Port Condition Zulu at 11:00 Monday 3 August.

Based on the latest track of Isaias and the anticipated arrival of tropical storm winds, cargo operations for Monday 3 August at the Ports of Wilmington and Morehead City are as follows:

Port of Wilmington Operations – Monday 3 August

  • Container Gate will be open from 0700 until 1200 to receive loads and empties. No empties will be delivered, loaded containers only.
  • General Cargo Gate will be closed to all commercial activity.

Port of Morehead City Operations – Monday, August 3

  • Port closed to all commercial activity.

Tenants will have access to the Ports of Wilmington and Morehead City until 1700 Monday.

A decision regarding port operations for Tuesday, August 4 will be issued Monday afternoon based on the latest forecast.
