UK box terminal storage capacity expanded following ABP’s investment

Associated British Ports (ABP) Humber recently finished the expansion works on its Humber Container Terminal at the Port of Hull, after a US$5.7 million (£4.8 million) investment.

With the completion of the project, the terminal’s storage capacity has been expanded with an additional 17,600m² of heavy-duty paving.

According to ABP, the Humber Container Terminal in Hull receives around 12 ships each week from Rotterdam, Amsterdam, and Ghent, supporting clients Samskip, iMotion, and BGF, and complements the 15 vessels handled by the Humber Container Terminal in the Port of Immingham.

“Having completed a US$60 million investment at the start of 2021, Humber’s provision to serve the container sector goes from strength to strength with these ongoing investments,” stated Simon Bird, director of Humber.

During the expansion project, Stoneledge Ltd. handled the clearance work for the extension, while CR Reynolds took over the construction activities.
