Valenciaport plans vehicle silo on South Quay 2 of the Port of Sagunto

Valenciaport is planning the construction of a vehicle silo in the Muelle Sur 2 area of the Port of Sagunto. The project responds to the growing demand for surface area in the area, specifically the demand for the temporary storage of vehicles derived mainly from automobile traffic.

The objective of the Spanish port is to draw up the design of a silo that will boost the storage capacity of vehicles in the corresponding terminal.

The vehicle silo will be equipped with a solar system on the roof, allowing the Port Authority of Valencia (APV) to meet its goal of being an emission-neutral port by 2030.

The design of the silo for Muelle Sur 2 of the Port of Sagunto will also have a ground floor and four storeys in height, which will guarantee the terminal’s capacity to carry out the required work, as well as facilitating access to the terminal and the use of vehicle transport services, according to a statement.

The projected silo will be located in the South Quay 2 of the Port of Sagunto and has a budget of €114,950 (around US$126,000) and the execution period is six months. Interested companies can apply until 18 September 2023, until 13:00 hours, noted the Spanish port in a statement.
