The Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) is developing a plan to reduce the use of private vehicles when heading to the Spanish port.
Valenciaport conducted a preliminary diagnostic study in which 24% of the staff (office staff, stevedores, and carriers) participated.
The findings showed that the facility needs to be rearranged to facilitate access by bicycle, personal mobility vehicles (such as electric scooters), and even walking more easily and securely.

According to the findings of the study, increasing the frequency of public transportation to the port region will help those employees. Therefore, it will be more likely for them to leave their vehicles at home if more bus lines or safe entrances for bicycles or skateboards are installed.

With all of the information gathered from the participatory process, the company awarded the ‘PAV Sustainable Transport to Work Plan’ has approximately six months to submit a proposal for viable actions that represent a significant advance and facilitate sustainable journeys in itinere of the Commercial Port and the Port Authority staff and the office area.
