Valenciaport seeks tenders for remodelling of East dock for railway motorway development

The Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) has put out tenders for the remodelling of the Port of Valencia’s East dock track yard for the building of a rail motorway.

The remodelling’s goal is to complete the civil works and installations required for the subsequent installation of a gantry crane, which will allow the operation of a new combined transport terminal capable of loading and unloading lorry semi-trailers between the road and the railway track at the Port of Valencia.

The baseline tender budget is over US$3.2 million (VAT excluded), and firms can submit offers until 8 May at 1 pm (Spain time).

In addition, the European Union’s Next Generation funds and the Spanish government’s Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan are funding this initiative.

The action takes place at the Port of Valencia’s East Dock region, directly close to the breakwater, in the region occupied by the railway and the access road to the dock’s southern end, which spans around 740 metres.

Furthermore, the planned civil works include the foundations for the two rails on which the gantry crane will move for semi-trailer loading and unloading operations on the railroad, as well as the installations related to the gantry crane’s implementation.

The execution period of the remodelling is scheduled to last six months.
