Vietnam to control the import of waste

In order to prevent the fraudulent behavior to regulate the import of waste , avoiding Vietnam to become a world garbage landfill and increasing the cost of waste destruction, The General Department of Vietnam Customs notice 4202 issued on 17 Jul 2018 to strengthen control the imported “Waste cargo”.

 

According to the notice, the waste which could complete import customs clearance must meet the following conditions:

  • Named on the Prime Minister issued’s import list; Now, government has issued a list of goods which are allowed to be imported for use as raw materials.
  • Meet national environmental technology standards.
  • Import enterprised have “Environmental permit for importing waste materials using as raw materials for production” and have enough quota.
