Wan Hai Lines opens new agency office in Maldives

Wan Hai Lines launched an agency office in Maldives to increase the efficiency and quality of customer service in light of the significant local demand in Indian inland and South Asia.

The ongoing economic stimulus strategy will aid in the revitalisation of the domestic economy, and domestic demand is likely to rise considerably, according to the Taiwanese ocean carrier, which feels optimistic about the Maldives’ future import situation.

On 21 November, the shipping company held a grand opening ceremony. During the banquet, several customers and partners sent representatives to show their support for Wan Hai’s entry into the Maldives market.

Wan Hai, which now has six owned offices in India, aims to provide direct river port services increasing ties between India and neighbouring countries, such as Maldives, Nepal, and Bhutan.

According to the Maldives Development Update from the World Bank, the Maldivian economy continued to expand in the first quarter of 2023 by 5.5% year-on-year, surpassing pre-pandemic levels.
