XPO Logistics partners with Ryze Hydrogen in UK and Ireland

Ryze Hydrogen, a net zero pioneer, has chosen XPO Logistics as its exclusive transport company for clean hydrogen throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland.

XPO, a leading innovative supply chain company in Europe, was chosen as Ryze Hydrogen’s partner for the next three years based on its experience and technological skills.

As the sole hydrogen transport provider in the United Kingdom and Ireland, XPO is assisting in the development of National Occupational Standards that govern the performance of individuals in the field, as well as the knowledge and skills required to work safely and effectively in hydrogen production, storage, and transportation.

“After a detailed and rigorous process, XPO was selected as the logistics provider that will help to drive Ryze’s ambitious strategy in the UK. We’re excited to work with XPO Logistics starting in 2024, and we look forward to engaging this high-performance partnership for years to come,” stated Neil Isaacson, chief executive of Ryze Hydrogen.

Ryze Hydrogen’s focus on offering net zero solutions for firms looking to decarbonise connects well with XPO’s campaign in the UK and Ireland for Carbon Neutrality by 2040 and Net Zero emissions by 2050.

Furthermore, because Ryze Hydrogen’s operating concept allows hydrogen fuel to be pumped in the same way as traditional fossil fuels, refuelling a hydrogen vehicle takes no longer than refuelling a diesel vehicle, and hydrogen has the same range as fossil fuels.

“Both Ryze and XPO recognise the importance hydrogen will play in the energy mix of the future. By leveraging both businesses’ respective strengths and working in partnership, we can ensure a robust supply chain that will support the resilience of the UK energy sector,” stated Dan Myers, managing director of XPO Logistics in UK and Ireland.
