Yang Ming’s announcement about Songa Iridium grounding on Bosporus

Yang Ming made a statement about container ship “Songa Iridium” accident in Istanbul on December 27, 2020.

YM’s Chartered in vessel MV. Songa Iridium encountered main engine fire incident and loss power then contacted shore near Istanbul, Turkey.  The Coastal Safety of Istanbul dispatched 4 tugs to tow Songa Iridium to the anchorage of Istanbul. Thereafter the Coastal Safety requests the Salvage remuneration by the proportion of value of the salvage property (i.e. Ship, cargo, containers, and bunker value).

Yang Ming adds that Salvage remuneration is not determined yet and under negotiation.
