Yangpu Port and Abu Dhabi Terminal strengthen their relations

The Management Committee of Yangpu Economic Development Zone, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Ports Group, CSP Abu Dhabi Terminal, and Hainan Harbor & Shipping International Port Co., Ltd., entered a new chapter of cooperation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The partners aim to accelerate the connectivity between the sister ports of Yangpu Port and Abu Dhabi Terminal. This initiative aims to upgrade the status of both ports as pivotal regional hubs, enhancing bilateral and regional economic and trade interactions between China and the United Arab Emirates.

The signing ceremony took place concurrently in Abu Dhabi, UAE and Haikou, Hainan Province, China.

Abu Dhabi Port and Yangpu Port stand as the most important hubs of COSCO SHIPPING’s operations in the Asia-Pacific region. The Chinese shipping giant has adopted an integrated approach encompassing “investment, construction, and operation” at these ports.

This strategy has led to modern maritime facilities and facilitated the establishment of cutting-edge integrated logistics parks. These developments aim to form a new generation of digital, intelligent, and green free trade ports, offering customers comprehensive “end-to-end” digital supply chain solutions and services.

Currently, COSCO SHIPPING has 43 routes calling at the Yangpu International Container Terminal and 20 routes at Abu Dhabi Terminal. This April, the Yangpu-Abu Dhabi direct route was officially launched to facilitate seamless connectivity between sister ports and the global shipping network.
