Yara Clean Ammonia and Cepsa have decided to form a strategic cooperation to build the first clean hydrogen maritime corridor connecting the ports of Algeciras, Spain and Rotterdam, the Netherlands in order to decarbonise European industry and maritime transport.
The collaboration with Yara Clean Ammonia will aid in the establishment of a secure, resilient, and cost-effective supply chain for providing clean ammonia to Cepsa’s industrial and maritime customers in Rotterdam and Central Europe.
The collaboration also allows Cepsa to provide the first clean hydrogen molecules to its customers by using Yara Clean Ammonia’s global supply base and logistical infrastructure.
As a result, the energy company will be able to begin marketing clean hydrogen and clean ammonia to industrial and maritime customers in Rotterdam and Central Europe.
Yara Clean Ammonia and Cepsa will collaborate extensively to build a strong supply chain for the clean hydrogen corridor. Cepsa will construct a new green ammonia plant in San Roque, Cádiz, near the port of Algeciras, with an annual output capacity of up to 750,000 tonnes at its energy park.
