The Israeli container carrier ZIM has added the port of Trieste in Italy to the rotation of the company’s two services.
From 19 May, ZIM has launched a new container service, the Adriatic Express Service (ADX), which will connect Trieste with Israel (Ashdod) and Turkey (Aliaga) on a weekly basis, focusing on the transport of fresh goods in reefer containers with competitive transit time.
Additionally, the Haifa-based shipping line will call at the Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG’s Italian multi-purpose terminal “Piattaforma Logistica Trieste” (HHLA PLT Italy) on the new RoRo-service Vehicle Carrier Service 1 (VE1), which will stop at Trieste once a month.
On 13 May, Viking Sea was the first ship to launch this service at HHLA PLT Italy. The ship mainly carried new emission-free electric cars destined to be imported from China to Europe.
