ZIM commences new Mexico-Florida service in December

ZIM will launch its Mexico – Tampa shuttle service (MTS) from mid-December aiming to expand its regional network and provide new options for customers in Mexico and the US.

The Israeli carrier will deploy one 1,000TEU vessel on the MTS service on a weekly, fixed-day schedule between the port of Altamira, Mexico and Tampa, Florida in the US. The service will depart from the port of Altamira on Fridays and call at the port of Tampa on Mondays.

ZIM claims its new product will offer guaranteed space allocation, container availability for dry, reefer and special equipment, extended cut-off dates and a quick International Maritime Organization (IMO) Cargo approval process, along with door-to-door and end-to-end inland service.

“The new MTS is a valuable addition to our growing regional network, strengthening our position as the fastest-growing ocean carrier in the Mexican market,” commented Yoram Dallman, ZIM vice president at Latin America busines unit.
