After the cessation of the cooperation between ZIM and MSC in the East Mediterranean – North Europe trade, the Israeli container shipping line has announced its recently introduced ZMI service, currently connecting the Indian subcontinent (ISC) and the East Mediterranean, will be extended.
ZMI service will also serve the East Mediterranean – North Europe trade, effective from March, with ZIM stating that the new structure will offer “fast, reliable, and direct service” connecting the ISC, Israel, Turkey and North Europe.
Although the new rotation and additional details of the updated ZMI service will be published in the next weeks, ZIM confirmed it will include three direct calls in ISC ports, Mundra, Nhava Sheva and Colombo, full coverage of ports and inland container depots in India, direct call to Mersin with connection to Black Sea ports and connection to inland destinations through its intramodal services.
“The expanded service, operated independently by ZIM, will offer considerable advantages to customers. We are enhancing our ability to handle project and special cargo, and as always provide top-level personal service along with advanced digital tools,” commented Rani Ben Yehuda, ZIM’s executive vice president.
