ZIM infiltrates Australian market with new service

ZIM is entering the Australian market with a new service connecting China with major ports in Australia.

The new service, named China Australia Express (CAX), will offer 11-day transit times from South China to Sydney along with additional advantages.

The new China-Australia service, which ZIM describes as one of the fastest in the market,  is expected to commence in mid-October 2020 and will have the following rotation: Ningbo – Shanghai – Yantian – Sydney – Melbourne – Brisbane – Ningbo.

ZIM will deploy six 2,500TEU container vessels on the service with extensive capacity and plugs for refrigerated cargo.

The maiden call of CAX service will be on 15 October with the boxship Northern Vivacity starting its journey from the port of Ningbo, according to a company’s spokesman.

A fleet of new, advanced reefer units fitted with the ZIMonitor system for constant monitoring and damage prevention will be available to customers on the new service, said ZIM.

Eli Glickman, ZIM’s president & CEO added, “We see a great opportunity in the Australian trade and believe our unique Z Factor and innovative yet personal approach will be appreciated and valued by customers in this market.”
