ZIM Sustainability report unveils regional managers adoption

ZIM has formalised its corporate responsibility proposals into a single Sustainability report that will give customers a single point of contact with locally appointed regional operation managers.

Published on 2 April Zim’s Sustainability report chimes with the company’s overall culture to strictly abide by all applicable laws, including local regulations in each geographical location in which it operates. This applies to all functions and business units including human resources, environmental, legal, economic and other business functions.

The regional managers are expected to provide regular updates to top management on issues related to the programme, including the progress and outcome of any audits, security-related exercises, and Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism validations within the scope of their relevant supply-chain.

The report covers issues related to corporate governance, environmental and social activities and performance. ZIM said the report has been prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards. The issues discussed in the report were selected in a material analysis process carried out by ZIM management.

ZIM President & CEO Eli Glickman commented, “The current CoronaVirus crisis is a huge challenge on a global scale. As we cope with it, we do not neglect other global challenges facing us. Our increasing efforts to put sustainability, in the broadest sense of the term, at the forefront of everything we do, continue without interruption, in line with our vision and values.”
