ZIM upgrades its China-Australia service network

ZIM has announced the introduction of its second Express service from China to Australia in December.

In particular, the Israeli carrier will launch the C2A service on 4 December with the following rotation:

Laem Chabang – Hochiminh – Nansha – Yantian – Sydney – Melbourne – Brisbane – Laem Chabang.

“The new service will offer 11-day transit times from Yantian to Sydney for our growing E-commerce customers,” said ZIM in its announcement.

The new service will deploy six container vessels of 2,500TEU nominal capacity each with extensive capacity and plugs for refrigerated cargo.

“A fleet of new, advanced reefer units fitted with the ZIMonitor system for constant monitoring and damage prevention will be available to customers on the new service,” added ZIM.

Eli Glickman, ZIM president and CEO, commented, “We are responding to market demands by rolling out the second loop of our Australia express service in record time. I am sure this restructured service will provide a solution for our customers’ growing needs in this trade.”

The Haifa-based shipping company will split the China Australia Express (CAX) service into two loops. The previous service, named CAX, will change to offer a 12-day transit time from Shanghai to Sydney.

The updated rotation will be Xiamen – Ningbo – Shanghai – Sydney – Melbourne – Brisbane.
